Risks and non-risks of not getting X-rays

The fear of many parents for exposing their children to ionizing radiation during the execution of diagnostic X-rays is completely unmotivated. The dosages used are largely below the risk limits. In addition, performing a screening X-ray around the age of eight enables the interception of serious jaw bone problems and permanent teeth germs.
Making operational choices and drawing diagnostic conclusions without X-rays is like sailing in the open sea without compass or echo sounder.

Some comparisons, such as those shown in the table below, can better clarify how unmotivated it is to worry about the damage to medical X-rays.
Performing dental X-rays generates half the ionizing radiation received in a two-hour flight.
It is important to get to the right conclusions.
